The Raph Round-up: June 2026

Summer in Denmark means long days, big clouds, and an increase in insect activity. It’s been a busy month for me in June, so I didn’t have many opportunities to get out with the camera. Regardless, I hope you enjoy some of my favourite shots from the month.

Worlds up high

I love the summer clouds in Denmark. We get some pretty impressive cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds here when the weather heats up. The long reach provided by the 600mm lens offers some nice perspectives, and when using it, I’ve noticed that there are actually quite a few birds flying around out there!

Rooftop worlds

On our apartment’s rooftop there is a garden, and in this garden lies a little world. It’s an oasis in a concrete desert – a rest stop for bees and other insects.

Multiple exposures

Having been inspired by Adam Gibbs, I’ve been playing around with multiple exposures – a method where one can combine multiple shots into a single image. The results can be pretty fun, and it can add a dreamy feel to otherwise quite busy scenes.

Eye of a storm

At the end of a heatwave in June we stood witness to an amazing thunderstorm. I’ve never experienced one quite like this, and was awed by the forces of nature.
